So close but not to be for Michael Caine – Harbour Cars

Tim Harvey took the 2010 Porsche Carrera Cup victory this weekend at Brands Hatch Indy circuit the final venue for the year.

Despite being fastest in practice Harbour Cars Driver Michael Caine had a disappointing qualification session and was set to start 3rd and 5th in Rounds 19 & 20 the last 2 races of the season . Caine spun on some coolant in round 19 the first race of the weekend which put him from 3rd place to 13th despite outstanding driving and overtaking manouvres getting him back to 6th it was not enough and Harvey took the series with a second place to Stephen Jelley’s first win of the championship.

Frustratingly in Round 20 Harvey failed to Finish in the points but it was one race too late for Caine to pull back the 2010 championship despite getting his car up to 3rd. Stephen Jelley took a further win in Round 20 and Euan Hankey was second.

In consolation Motorbase Performance did take the team championship victory for 2010 in the closing laps from Redline Racing.
