The second generation of 997 Turbo launched for the 2010 model year a year after the rest of the normally aspirated Carrera’s, Which meant there was under two years of production before the 991 was born.
Its core change was the new PDK (Porsche-Doppelkupplungsgetriebe) which transformed the driving experience of all 911’s. The Twin Turbo engine became a 3.8 Litre up from 3.6 and featured direct fuel injection. These changes beefed the power up to 500 BHP. Interior changes included the more up to date touchscreen PCM and Bluetooth.
