The 911 (996) was introduced in 1997 to replace the now legendary 993 derivative of the 911.
Causing a stir when it was launched in 1998 with a 3.4 litre water-cooled engine moving away from the air-cooled units that the 911 had been produced with since 1968.
With new styling moving away from the traditional oval headlights linked to the 911 the 996 headlights were then used in the GT1 LM1 Le Mans race car and have now become an infamous part of the 996’s appeal. Often called ‘Fried Eggs’ because of the orange indicator lens in the clear light.
The 996 range was updated in 2002, commonly now referred to as the 996.2 and the updates included a revision to the headlamps going to a completely clear lamp used on the Turbo models.
The 996 Targa and 996 C4S models were also introduced. The C4S used a 3.6 litre engine producing 315 hp, it also shared the same wide body as the Turbo and included Turbo front and rear bumpers, wheels, brakes and suspension. The C4S is now a highly desirable model.
This vehicle comes with 1 fitted extra worth £249.10 when the car was new

For many years I had been driving past Harbour cars promising that one day I would go in for real. That day came on my 60th birthday!Although being an ‘easy’ customer kind of knowing exactly what I wanted being a 911 nut have to say that the service was superb and I also felt a certain reassurance from buying from here being my first Porsche! along with attention to detail. They made the whole experience special, would defiantly go back!!
