Ten years after the launch of the 911, Porsche engineers gave the model a comprehensive makeover and so the G-Series Aircooled 911 model was born and ran from 1974 through to 1989.
Strictly speaking the G-series was only produced for the 1974 model year & was followed by the H, J, K, and so on but the 911 made until 1989 is widely referred to as the 'G-Model' by Porsche themselves. During this time engines started as 2.7 Litre, through 3.0 Litre and finally from 1984 the 3.2 Litre Carrera Model was launched with the most powerful horizontally opposed flat 6-cylinder engine at 231 BHP.
A major improvement in the final 2 years of production was the Getrag G50 Gearbox which with this particular car being a 1989 final production year car it has.
The car comes with 30 routine services recorded evenly across its life and a proper accompanying history file; this car has been maintained by Porsche Main Agents & Recognised Porsche Specialists from new. We have not driven a better one for a long time, in fact we last sold this car 5 years ago.
It now sports a Blaupunkt Bremen Radio that has the external look of the cars production time but has up to date DAB Radio and USB iTunes connection together with Bluetooth Phone connectivity. We have also fitted a Retro-Classic fuseboard to bring the electrics up to date.
